Profile 'Program Manager / Director'

Description: I am a Programme Director experienced in Large Complex Programmes and Projects currently available for reassignment either as a contractor or on a permanent basis. I am looking for a similar role or that of a role as Programme Manager. The title is not so important for me, I am more interested in the challenge that any opportunity presents. I am looking at a salary of circa £85,000+ plus benefits or a day rate of around £450-550.
My background started as a programmer working on standard payroll and inventory systems and then progressed into more real time development. I progressed into team management and have worked in software development that covers such topics as Language Processor development, Operating System development and on through into Application development. Over the years my work has covered many business areas and has given me exposure to many differing clients in different parts of the world. In some instances I have actually spent several years in such places as the USA, Spain, Sweden, France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, India and Australia. This has resulted in my being culturally sensitive and has enabled me to win the respect and confidence of both the clients and my employers.
My experience and knowledge has been gained with such blue chip companies as Unisys, NCR, Fujitsu and EDS/HP. I have experience of both Public and Private Sectors having worked in the areas of Defence, DWP, NHS, MoJ, HMC&E, Met Police, Airline Applications, IT Software Development & Delivery, Transition &Transformation, Telecommunications, Banking, Insurance, Retail and Manufacturing.
I also have airline experience in that I have worked for such companies as Amadeus, Sabre and SITA as well as having Airline Applications and Networking exposure largely gained when at Unisys.
I have experience of managing multiple teams either locally grouped or geographically dispersed and am quite familiar with matrix management. As Applications Service Executive at EDS Defence I had responsibility for 40+ projects of varying sizes and had 4 Programme Managers reporting to me totaling around 500 personnel in all. The annual P&L budget was circa £78 million.
As for stakeholder management I believe that to be excellent as in the many industries, countries and companies I have worked for stakeholder management was vital to success and cooperation. In my last role at SITA, which has recently finished, I was a contract Programme Director for a Business Intelligence (Datamart and CRM) development for Air India, a role that required sensitive handling of senior stakeholders including 3rd party offshore providers in the Indian sub-continent as well as in Europe and the USA.
My attitude is both positive and proactive enabling me to have developed excellent man management skills that have enabled me to not only deliver results but to turn around failing Projects and Programmes. I thrive on challenge and work well under pressure. I am a person who is constantly willing to learn new things and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. I have always been and continue to be a team player and I enjoy the satisfaction of helping the team(s) to succeed through mentoring and governance. I am used to overcoming adversity and I am well known for being committed, loyal and of high integrity.
As can seen from my CV that I have broad experience in Programme Management delivery but I also have some Account Management experience as well. I am in addition well used to working away from home and outside the UK.
I used to be SC cleared until April 2018 but as I have not been in an SC role since November 2009 the clearance has now lapsed. It should not be difficult to reinstate if required.
